Plus, if you’ve not already reserved a room, these events will surely give you even more reason to do so. We’re still taking reservations, but you’ll have to be quick to avoid disappointment!
Loopin’ Annual Recreational Bike Ride
We know that Lewes is popular with cyclists already, thanks to the local cycle trail nearby. But how about a ride to support a great cause like the Lewes Public Library?
Each year, we welcome cyclists from all over to ride the 20-mile course at their own pace, providing a workout for anyone keen on their cycling, but also raising funds for an important part of our community. It’s open to register now for a place on the ride, which can be done any time during the month of June – see the Lewes Public Library website for more details.
Rehoboth Art League Members’ Exhibition
It’s always a busy calendar for the Rehoboth Art League, and this year is no different. The 49th Annual Rehoboth Art League Members’ Fine Craft Exhibition is due to be held from the 10th to the 17th of June, with members entering a whole host of imaginative crafts in a non-juried competition.
Meanwhile, the 84th Annual Fine Art Exhibition will take place from the 22nd of July to the 21st of August, showcasing some of the best 2D and 3D pieces alongside a competition for excellence – it’s always a popular event for visiting art fans and collectors alike.
You’ll be able to see all of the fantastic work in both the exhibitions in Rehoboth Beach.
2022 Lewes Garden Tour
Summer is the perfect time of year to meander through some of the wonderful gardens of Lewes, when The Lewes Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau holds an annual tour for locals and visitors alike. On June 18th, 2022, between 10 am and 4 pm, you can wander the gardens or check out the Garden Market in Zwaanendael Park — make sure you visit to find local garden-themed items from vendors there.
2022 Summer Concert in Stango Park
If you’re a music fan you won’t want to miss out on the Summer Concert Series; in fact, with a different evening of music every Tuesday throughout June and July, it’ll be hard to miss it. Stango Park is just off Adam Street, right by the Lewes History Museum and Lewes Public Library.
What’s great about this event is that it’s completely free, so you can enjoy all the music no matter which week you choose to visit us in the summer.
2022 Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse Tour
With selected dates already selling out fast, you’ll need to be quick to book your tickets for the Delaware River & Bay Lighthouse Foundation’s tour. Traveling by boat, you’ll see the Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse, as well as taking a quick stop at the Delaware Breakwater East End Lighthouse. It’s an illuminating trip and helps towards the preservation of the Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse.
Catch these classic Delaware landmarks in August and September (dates for June and July have already sold out at the time of writing!).
Beach BBQ 2022
Each year, the Children’s Beach House hosts a fantastic BBQ event to raise funds for their excellent cause of helping children with special needs. The event, held on Saturday, August 27th this year, will feature live entertainment, exclusive art for sale, an array of wine, beer, and cocktails, and some delicious upscale Argentinian cuisine as part of this year’s theme.
