What is the Historic Lewes Farmers Market?

If you’re enthusiastic about fresh, locally grown produce and artisanal goods then the Historic Lewes Farmers Market is the place to be. With a refreshing atmosphere centered around supporting the local farmers and traders, you can help the community while having a great time as you find out what’s on offer.

The weekly event, with the slogan “Grow Local. Buy Local. Eat Local.” began in 2006. That summer, the first gathering was held by volunteers and it has since grown to include over 40 vendors. It was born from the idea of returning traditional markets to Lewes – a historic feature of the town that had since dwindled and disappeared.

The HLFM is now a non-profit organization, helping to create farmers markets for producers, with a focus on the local community. Their mission is to drive a more sustainable food system that delivers fresh, healthy food.
